overlapping columns in Numbers

Somehow I have caused this and cannot fix it. I possibly did it by hitting Option/left and right arrow keys Freeze header rows and columns has been and is off.

Is there a way to clean this up?

It looks as if you have inadvertently superimposed another table on top of your table.

You can click the sheet name at the top (tab) to see the list of tables on that sheet. Select the "extra" one and hit <delete>.

(Or if you want to keep it, click the concentric circles to its upper left and drag to another position on the sheet.)
