Magic Mouse Scrolling On iPad 16.2

Hi there! I recently bought a used Magic Mouse and everything works fine except for the scrolling. It doesn’t work on most apps. The only place it works is in Safari where I quickly hover the mouse over the top right part of the page I’m on. I’m really frustrated because I want to be able to scroll with my mouse. I’m not entirely sure which one I have, but I think it’s the Magic Mouse 1.
