Netflix App does not allow login

Similar to a previous post which was closed due to inactivity (it had 47 ‘me too’s)

My Netflix app on Apple TV Gen3 continues to give me an error message when trying to login (ATV-ui92).

I have tried everything (Reset, Restore, Factory reset, app update, Netflix password reset, Ethernet direct, etc.) but the app continues to give this same error message. The same usn/pw works perfectly fine on all other devices.

Tried all solutions proposed in the last post but no change. The app UI doesn’t give any alternative login option than email/password - so am out of ideas.

What other solution could there be? You mentioned that Netflix is supported on Gen3. Any way to push an app update? or is there a problem with character transmission? Noticed that a wrong password gives a different error message (ATV-ui91) so it seems that the credentials ok.

thanks for your help

I have a similar issue and followed the same steps as outlined. I also spoke with Apple and Netflix. Apple was kind and jovial. They walked me through the steps noted in this forum. Netflix was more disappointing- but did the same.

I have older generation Apple TVs and due to me resetting my password neither work.

I cancelled my Netflix account after 11-years of continuous service.

Hi llklkéoipj,

There are recommendations for this specific error that come directly from the Netflix support website. Check out Netflix Error ATV-ui92 and complete any of the steps mentioned that you haven't already.

"If you are using the Remote app on an Apple mobile device:

  • Switch to the original Apple TV remote, then try signing in again.

If you are not using the Remote app on an Apple mobile device:

  • Check that you are entering the correct password.
  • If you are still unable to sign in, send yourself a password reset email (or mobile reset, if you have provided your phone number).
    • The email will provide a link that will sign you in to Netflix automatically. You'll then be prompted to create a new password.
    • Be sure to use the link within 24 hours, as it will expire. If the link has expired, don't worry -- you can send yourself another password reset email.

Reset all settings on your Apple TV

NOTE: Resetting all settings on your Apple TV (also known as a "hard reset") may clear any saved data or passwords (including Wi-Fi passwords) currently stored on the Apple TV. Perform these steps with caution if other troubleshooting steps haven't resolved the issue.

  1. Press and hold the Menu button on the Apple TV remote until you are taken to the home screen.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select General.
  4. Select Reset.
  5. Select Reset All Settings.
  6. Confirm that you would like to Reset All Settings.

Your Apple TV will reset itself and guide you through the initial setup process. Once you've completed setup, sign in to the Netflix app and try streaming again."

If the issue continues after completing all of the recommendations above, we'd recommend contacting Apple Support directly.

Cheers!
