It is normal for electronic devices to produce some heat during operation, especially when using resource-intensive features such as 5G networking. However, if your iPhone 12 is getting excessively hot to the point where it is uncomfortable to hold or use, there may be an issue that needs to be addressed.

There are several potential causes for an iPhone to get excessively hot, including:

  1. The phone's processor is being overloaded by running resource-intensive apps or games.
  2. The phone is being used in a hot environment, such as direct sunlight or a hot car.
  3. The phone's battery is damaged or has become depleted, causing it to produce more heat than normal.
  4. There is a problem with the phone's hardware, such as a damaged charging port or a malfunctioning component.

If you are concerned about the heat being generated by your iPhone 12, you should try the following steps:

  1. Close any resource-intensive apps or games that you are running.
  2. Avoid using the phone in hot environments.
  3. Make sure that the phone's battery is charged and in good working condition.
  4. If the problem persists, try resetting your iPhone or contact Apple support for further assistance.
