Thanks for your response.

My iPhone is visible in the left margin of the finder.

The indication onscreen is "loading..."

Restarting the iPhone doesn't change.

Replacing the phone chord connecting cable to the Mac Laptop didn't help.

Resetting the MacPro laptop running 10.15.7, running Cocktail and restarting seemed to solve the problem for now. I've seen this same issue before in various forms....iphone not talking to laptop. Sometimes I think it can happen if iPhone SW is not up to date.

This time it was the laptop but not sure what wasn't working.

Thanks again

Hello Sorcerer2006,

Thank you for posting to the Apple Support Communities.

It sounds like your Mac is unable to fully sync or update your iPhone. In a situation like this, there are several troubleshooting steps you can start with.

If your Mac is not finding that your iPhone is connected at all, please start with this Apple Support article: If your computer doesn't recognize your iPhone or iPad

Click here if you you are unable to complete an update on your iPhone: If your iPhone or iPad won't update

Finally, check these instructions to make sure your Mac and iPhone are syncing the way you would expect: Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod using your computer

Cheers!
