Ventura Can't read external drive formatted as HFS+

My macbook with Ventura Ventura cannot read external drive. The external drive is formatted as HFS+. The external drive is a Western Digital Passport. The drive comes up in Disk Utility but when I try to mount it I get 119930868 error. Any idea?

(com.apple.DiskManagement.dis enter error 49153 Disk failed to mount on MacBook Pro running Ventura 13.4 However, the disk mounted satisfactorily on an older MacBook Pro that was running Monterey 12.6.5. And when I put it back on the Ventura machine it still failed to mount. On the older machine, all the data is present. On the newer machine I was unable to mount it and so unable to tell if the data was there. But it is there. The disk is a WD My Passport Ultra 4TB drive. Got popup error message "NTFS for Mac Failed to mount volume /Volumes/4TB for video on /dev/disk2s1" The error message in the subject of this question came from Disk Utility. I have an older WD My Passport for Mac 2TB drive that works fine on both machines. Go figure.

External hard drive not mounting on Monterey 12.4 Hi, I recently bought a new apple macbook air running Monterey 12.4. When I go to use my external hard drive, it won’t mount. It works on my old apple macbook air running El Capitan 10.11.6 but not on my new mac. I have downloaded NTFS for Mac where it sees the drive but won’t mount it. I tried with disk utility where it gives an error code 49153. Can anyone help please?

Have you tried to run First Aid on it since it shows up in Disk Utility?

Yes and I get the following error:

File system verify or repair failed. : (-69845)

Some people claim other disk software can fix things Disk Utility can’t, but I’ve never used them.
