Family Sharing of Passwords not working

I am a past user of LastPass. I was able to move all my password over to Safari and can now access all my passwords on all my devices. Very Nice.

Now I would like to share these passwords on iCloud with my wife via family sharing which we have been using for years. I just cannot figure out how to make it work. I use family sharing to share storage and find our devices but just do not see any options for password sharing.

And I can't find any Apple articles that explain what to do. And here I see posting that it seems like folks want to shut password sharing off but I just want to turn it on.

Any help and advice would be much appreciated.

Hello Judd Larson,

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities.

It sounds like you're looking to share your saved login passwords with Family Sharing, right?

If we have that correct, this doesn't appear to be a feature of Family Sharing as it keeps your personal and private details separate. For more details on this, check out the following resource to review what you can share with Family Sharing, and we'll include some details from the resource below: What is Family Sharing? - Apple Support

Everyone's personal files and preferences stay private

When you share iCloud+, family members can't see each others’ photos, files, or documents. And when you share other subscriptions like Apple Music, Apple Fitness+, or Apple TV+, each person sees their own preferences and recommendations — not the whole family’s.

Want to keep purchases private? You can hide individual items.

As an alternative, you can share passwords and passkeys via AirDrop if there are specific account logins that you'd like to share. For assistance with that, check out the following resource for more details. We'll include the steps below for easier finding: Share passkeys and passwords securely with AirDrop on iPhone - Apple Support

Send a passkey or password

To share with someone on iPhone or iPad, ask them to open Control Center and allow AirDrop to receive items. To share with someone on a Mac, ask them to allow themselves to be discovered in AirDrop in the Finder.

1. On your iPhone, go to Settings  > Passwords.

2. Tap the account you want to share.

3. Tap the Share button, then select the device or picture of the person you want to send the passkey or password to.

We hope that's able to help.

Have a great day!
