New iPhone same number but get notifications the number will expire

I upgraded from an iPhone 12 to iPhone 14. I keep getting this message

when I go to settings I get this message:

“This number is registered to your Apple ID, but is not associated with this phone. You can keep using the number for iMessage and FaceTime until it expires.”

there is an expiration date.

But there are no actions for me to take other than to remove my number from iMessage and FaceTime.
