Fading in Apple Music on iPhone

I have to get to the bottom of this because it's driving me insane. Whenever I listen to music on my phone (iPhone 13 Pro, Apple Music, same thing happening previously with XS Max), each song starts with an automatic fade up. Worse than that, if a song stops for a few beats, when it comes back in it has a fade applied. It is completely absurd.

Has anyone else experienced this? I have yet to find a way to turn it off. While I don't want to, I will soon turn to Spotify.
