Background photo randomly disappears.

I have been having a weird problem for the past few weeks. I have iphone 13 pro max with latest ios 16.2. At random times my lock screen and home screen background picture will disappear and leave a blank background. I can go to settings and the picture appears, but will not actually display as the background. I can change it, and change back, changing will allow the new image to appear, but changing back goes blank again. If I restart phone, then it gets temporarily fixed, but will eventually randomly go blank again.

Hello inuhanyou16,

From what you've shared, it sounds like a Focus mode may be set on your iPhone! This page goes over how to set up and manage Focus: Use Focus on your iPhone or iPad

"Turn on Focus

  1. Go to Settings > Focus.
  2. Tap a provided Focus option—like Do Not Disturb, Personal, Sleep, or Work—then tap Customize Focus.
  3. Set up your Focus. You can select allowed or silenced notifications from people and apps, connect your Lock Screen or Home Screen, have this Focus turn on automatically, and add Focus filters."

These modes can be set up on schedules, and may help explain your reoccurring behavior.

Regards.
