Cannot delete a birthday from the Birthday Calendar

Hi there,

the calendar automatically updated the Birthday calendar with a birthday which I added via New Contact. I have deleted the contact from my Contact list but the Birthday was not deleted from the Birthday calendar. I am unable to do anything to that event in the calendar. I have done the following instructions, but the Birthday was still not deleted.

Let's open the Calendar app, then at the bottom of the screen tap "Calendars". From here, turn off the Birthdays calendar and choose "Done". Restart your iPhone, then turn the Birthdays calendar back on. Does it update as expected? Just in case, here's information on viewing multiple calendars: Set up multiple calendars on iPhone
