My Apple Watch won’t come on. It only will show the red lighting bolt in the upper left corner along with the time. I’ve held both buttons down to try and make it come on and it won’t, please help

I have a new Apple Watch Series 7, it won’t turn on or charge, it just shows a ref lighting bolt in the upper left and the time, then a black screen, I have pushed both buttons to reset watch to make it come on, but it doesn’t. Please help!
