Allow using iPad (pro) as external display with different Apple IDs

Currently it is not possible to use iPad Pro as an external display for the Mac unless they share the same Apple ID. This is not possible even between family members (Family Setting).

This makes absolutely no sense. Calling all Apple engineers and product managers: please change this to allow using the iPad as an external display without requiring both having same AppleID.

Or maybe there is a way to make this work, but I don't know how.

To let Apple know you'd like this feature please use the feedback website: click here ➡️ Feedback - iPad - Apple

Apple engineers would not see this suggestion here.

And yes, currently the requirement is that both the Mac and the iPad use the same Apple ID.
