Refund to Apple Card but Account is now Closed

I am receiving a refund back to my original payment method (Apple Card), but the card has been deactivated/account closed for a couple months. Will the refund come to my Apple Cash card instead? Or does Goldman Sachs issue a paper check? Has anyone experienced this?
