I am trying to activate office on my macbook pro from the website but it always says you are using a lower version of mac.
But app store is not allowing me to upgrade to latest os

What version of macOS do you have on your MBPro?
Microsoft discontinued support for Office on macOS Catalina and earlier versions last fall. At this point Big Sur or later is required.
