My mid 2011 MBP 15 inch, with High Sierra v.10.13.6 is missing the dropdown menu in airdrop, so I m not able to turn it on. Is there any way to get it back?

I upgraded my 2011 mbp to Monteray, problem solved. For now anyway, it did not run too smooth 🤨 so I’m not sure if I’ll keep it.
My 15» 2012 Retina run Monteray like butter, but my 2011 15» not so much.
Airdrop in 10.13.6 lacks any menu...
Navigate in the Finder>Network & drag & drop the desired connection on the Airdrop window.

I have a 15» 2012 Retina with Monterey and it work like a charm, but I cannot airdrop to/from my 2011. Even with Iphones.
Hmmm, I can airdrop both ways with 2019 iMac & 2011 Mini, but haven't tried Monterey.
In a finder Window do you have Network on the sidebar?
On my 2011 Mini running 10.13.6 I just have to click on Airdrop & ny 2019 iMacx shows up!?
OK, maybe File Sharing instead of Airdrop?
