My mother in laws phone has this image that is always upfront and never goes away. It’s the last thing to disappear when powering off and the first thing when powering on. Something is definitely not right about this. Has anyone ever seen this?

The LCD has been physically damaged. That's not an 'image' it's the damaged portion of the LCD screen.
A screen shot would be helpful…
Bottom of screen. It’s always there and always on top regardless of all.
Critter image stays on screen all the time.
