Are there sim cards in a iPhone X?

When do I remove the SIM card in an iPhone 7 Plus to put it in a iPhone X?

Hey M Skradski,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities! That's a great question. The iPhone X does have a physical Nano-SIM card as shown here: iPhone X - Technical Specifications

You may need to get a new SIM card when moving from your iPhone 7 Plus to your new iPhone X, but you'll want to check with your carrier to be sure. The steps to set up your iPhone and when the SIM card is needed can be found here: Set up your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Wife received an iWatch for XMAS, current iPhone was a 7 Plus. Not compatible. My Son then gave her an unlocked, reset iPhone X.

We backed up her 7, a message indicated a successful backup. Took the SIM out of the 7 installed in the X.

Attempted to do the automatic install, no luck. Did the manual install, items did not download, purchased Apps also did not download. Went to the App store all the apps appeared as purchased, but the only way to get them was one at a time. (Annoying).

Wife tried to make an appointment but was told they cant do that but tried to help over the phone. Had her create a new Apple ID (I don't understand why) but now I'm curious if she has 30GB free storage in addition to my 200GB and do I need to do something to our iCloud account. I know there is a lot here.

But it comes down to two things: Why didn't the iCloud restore the iPhone X and Why create a new Apple ID?
