Can't send photos to non-iPhone users

I can text with non-iPhone users from my iPhone but my pictures, videos do not go through with my new iPhone 14 pro. I can, however, send photos and videos to folks with iPhones.

Well I tried everything in this thread from working with my carrier to turning things on and off and standing on my head spitting nickels. Almost everything I have tried would work one or two times then go right back to not sending pictures. Also even when it worked my iPhone would show the red exclamation mark and say not delivered. The only thing I have found that works 98% of the time reducing the picture size to 500KB. If I get the not delivered message I just it send again and it goes. So who knows where the problem is.

Unfortunately not. It seemed to work for a little while. So I finally did what Apple wanted me to do, my partner traded in his Samsung for an iPhone, and now it works fine. Interestingly now, my housemate can't send messages to our group now that my partner has an iPhone. Eventhough our housemate has and iPhone 14. He took it to Verizon, they claimed the issue was Apple, He went to Apple, they said it was Verizon, all because the phone my partner had used to be on an Android!

I tell you they are playing some serious games with us! And Yes on iOS 17 too

I’ve done two lengthy sessions with my provider (Verizon) to no avail (one of them 3 hours, tried everything short of a full restore). I can receive texts and media from Android users, can text back and forth, but I cannot send images, video or links. Always the same message “you must enable MMS.” But of course it’s enabled. Really frustrating. The iPhone also splits up group texts from mixed iOS and Android groups… so annoying…

I have Xfinity mobile (Verizon) and called and had them reset the group messages as well as provisioning MMS

took 45 minutes and all issues were resolved. I could not reply to group texts or send photos or receive photos from any android phone. This is not an apple issue it's your provider You need to ask your customer service agent to escalate this to a tier 3 agent.

A little update:

On my fourth session with Verizon, upper tier and all, they still can't figure it out and I'm currently on hold as the rep tries to patch an Apple rep into the conversation. Here are some things I did/discovered along the way:

  • I am able to send images to Android via my wifi-only iPad, which is very strange because it relays through my phone
  • I can receive images from non-iPhone senders, but I can't send. I'm prompted to turn on MMS messaging, but of course, it's already on
  • The "Group Messages" toggle under the MMS toggle in Message Settings is missing
  • MMS Provisioning and group messaging has been reset on Verizon's side multiple times
  • Group messages with Android/iPhone participants don't even appear on my iPhone, but they do appear on my laptop and iPad
  • The issue has transcended two iOS versions now (16 to 17) and two iPhones (13 Pro to 15 Pro)
  • I tried the suggested solution of turning on the Block Media messages in the MyVerizon iPhone app, but that did nothing
  • The Verizon Tech (#4) said this was a known issue, hence he's trying to patch Apple into the conversation

I will report back any findings or results!

It's embarrassing to report that I've just spent four hours on the phone with both Verizon and Apple. Both camps are stumped and escalating it to engineering. Apple scheduled a callback for Sunday, so we'll see what they dig up. Interestingly, neither camp is pointing at the other, saying "it's a carrier issue," or "it's Apple's issue." They seem genuinely stumped but interested in figuring out the problem. And they know it's affecting many users.
