Why won't blocked emails go to bin

I've blocked several addresses on my Mac, but despite having the 'blocked emails go to bin option' they still alive in my inbox.

Blocked email don't go to bin. I have Enabled blocked mail filtering, and selected Move it to bin. Mail don't go to bin automatically and I must move manually. This is an old question (April 22). Does anybody have a solution or is Apple engineering still working on the subject. Thanks for you attention and help. Roger

Blocked mail not working on brand new iMac So I go to mail, click settings, then enable Junk mail filtering. Then click move it to the junk box. Then I go to the blocked tab and check Enabled blocked mail filtering. Then, radio button, Move it to the trash. And this morning I have about 12 emails that have the blocked symbol by them in my junkl mailbox. They are on the blocked list, so why aren't they going to the trash? I'm using a brand new (1 week old) iMac. I did however migrate all my stuff over from my old 2019 iMac. This is the version of Apple mail on my new Mac: Version 16.0 (3774.200.91.1.1) So is there some way of making this work? I thought the whole point is to cut down on how many emails I have to delete, yet so many turn up with the blocked mail symbol but they stay in the junk box, not being deleted. Grrrrrrr. How does a Blocked senders email unblock itself? In mac mail when blocking spam, certain senders seem to have an unblocking or anti-blocking feature. Is anyone else aware of this? I mean as soon as I hit block this sender usually the red circle 🚫 appears. For some of these senders, it disappears as soon as I block them. This happens on my MacBook Pro in Mail as well. The three above the bottom one all had been blocked. Yet, there they are without the 🚫

All though the " Blocked " designation has been applied to these Senders, perhaps the Junk Mail settings need as bit of the " tweak " by enabling the " Move to Junk mailbox " is needed ?

Even at that, in the "Blocked " tab, and enabling the " Move to Trash " did not work in Monterey 12.6.2 nor does it reliably work in Ventura 13.1 IMHO.
