I am setting up a new work computer that uses enterprise software for setup, but it requires the newest Mac OS X. How can I update my Mac OS X when I am unable to login to my mac?

I understand that you want to update macOS but you are unable to log in. The only way to accomplish that is to boot macOS Recovery using the appropriate key chord to update macOS to the latest version compatible with your Mac.


Start by reading Intro to macOS Recovery - Apple Support and identify your model Mac: either Apple Silicon or Intel-based, and follow the applicable instructions to reinstall macOS.
