Battery replacement MacBook Pro Retina Early 2013

Hello,

I have a MacBook Pro 15-inch Retina Display from Early 2013 that has this battery notice showing up: "Service Recommended". I was wondering if Apple can still do a battery replacement for this laptop even though it's an older model.

If battery replacement is not possible, is there a way to use the MacBook with only the power adapter without ruining the whole the internal system?

Troubleshooting Older Battery Replacement:

A. Data Recovery:

AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider):

Take this to an AASP. They would deal with data recovery from older items, for particular cases like this.

Contacting an AASP:

  1. Go Here: Find Locations - Apple Authorized Reseller
  2. Click: Service & Support
  3. Enter: your location information
  4. See: if there is an AASP nearby
  5. Contact: an AASP that shows up, and find out more about the services that they offer to fix this MacBook Air

B. Disposal:

Being hazardous materials (i.e. Lithium Ion) may reside, I insist that you take this to a place for proper disposal. Some retailers out there recycle and dispose of old, unwanted items free of charge, meaning you would not have to pay even penny for disposal. Drop it off at the local dump, and they may charge you quite a bit.
