Emulator “secret” on device

On prior iPhone appeared to have an emulator device on phone. Has anyone seen something like this? The entire background of the phone would pop out and shake. When scrolling on page and there is a link it (in article) would pop out and say “secret.” Gave up iPhone for years and decided to try again and am still getting similar issues with scrolling/security. Issues included text messages not being received or doubles when receiving messages. Also, has anyone heard of a virus link called “link it?” Any information would be helpful, service provider gave explanation that is not their problem thanks!

Greetings Lawnboy42,

A few things that would be helpful to know as we work to provide focused troubleshooting -

  • When you set up your new iPhone did you use a backup or transfer data from your old iPhone?
  • Which app(s) do you notice scrolling issues in?

When organizing the Home screen, having the app icons jiggle is expected. Let us know if the behavior described in the following articles could be what you’re seeing -

You also mentioned issues with the Messages app. Does this seem to be impacting SMS, iMessage or both? What is the difference between iMessage and SMS/MMS?

iMessages are texts, photos, or videos that you send to another iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac over Wi-Fi or cellular-data networks. These messages are always encrypted and appear in blue text bubbles. To turn iMessage on or off, go to Settings > Messages.

If you aren’t using iMessage, you can use SMS/MMS. These messages are texts and photos that you send to other cell phones or another iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. SMS/MMS messages aren't encrypted and appear in green text bubbles on your device.

If you can't send or receive messages on your iPhone or iPad

If you have issues with Messages after you set up a new device

If you experience issues like conversations in Messages showing up as separate threads or sent messages appearing as green message bubbles instead of blue message bubbles when you set up a new device, update your settings using the following steps:

1. Update your device to the latest version of iOS or iPadOS if needed.
2. In the Settings app, tap Cellular. Make sure that your phone line is turned on. If you use multiple SIMs, make sure that the phone number you want to use is selected and turned on.
3. In the Settings app, tap Messages. Turn iMessage off and then back on.
4. Tap Send & Receive.
5. Tap the phone number that you want to use with Messages.

If you have issues when you try to receive a FaceTime call after you set up a new device, you can also update your FaceTime settings.

Thanks.

Thanks for reply and information. Took two visits and approximately 5 hours total to get a new phone activated took every employee at store to work together to get activated, they did a good job! Did not transfer any numbers or anything, just new phone.

Question about the emulator was because of prior phone and why I left service provider and Apple. It was not the icons on the phone it was the actual entire background of the phone, the entire border around the phone was shaking similar to the icons. In some instances I had two battery life’s over lapping. I decided to try apple again about five years later because need phone for business but phone is behaving in the same manner but no emulator. Service Provider always thought I was in a different city for example, I was on East coast of Florida but Service Provider thought I was on West Coast, West Palm Beach vs Tampa when making a customer service call. Getting the same issue now but service provider upper management was completely disrespectful/unprofessional and said it is not their problem. I have had emails deleted or opened which is annoying. Emulator issue they gave explanation that 3/4g was not secure and they could not do anything. I guess 5g is suppose to be super secure. It appears someone/something has access to phone, very annoying and almost compulsive, have to double check things because they randomly change on their own (text messages etc). Scrolling issues tried different browsers/reset and updated software, even having scrolling issues with applications not just browser. Thanks for Advice!
