Bluetooth devices disconnecting from iPad

Since the upgrade to iPadOS 16.1-16.2, my iPad will randomly disconnect from my Bluetooth devices. I use a Nimbus+ controller, Bose QC45 Headphones, and play COD Mobile. I will turn on both devices; they will indicate that they are connected (and show connected in settings & in the COD settings). Just as I enter the game from the "waiting room," my Nimbus often disconnects, and I either have to swipe up, go to the iPad settings and reconnect or exit COD entirely. It also happens after I have successfully started a game and am into it for a while, and then "boom," the controller stops responding and starts indicating that it is looking for the connection. I have to swipe up, go to settings, reconnect and hope I haven't lost while I was "gone." The same thing will happen with the headphones working fine, the "disconnected" message in my ears. It also happens (more rarely) with my Logitech keyboard. Sometimes 1 of the three, two of them, or all three at once. At first, I thought it was the game, but it happened with the headphones on Netflix, & YouTube and the Keyboard whilst typing.

I am running a 1-year-old iPad 12.9 Pro with 200 GB of 256 free. The Controller and Headphones are about 3 months old and have been updated per Bose & SteelSeries instructions. I have forgotten the devices and reinstalled, deleted, and reinstalled the game. All of the "standard" fixes in the forum and Google. None of this occurred (that I recall) prior to iPadOS 16.

Any help would be appreciated.

The symptoms that you describe are typical of radio interference with Bluetooth. While Bluetooth is generally resilient, it is not immune from interfering radio signals.

The potential sources are many. Fluorescent lighting or proximity of a microwave oven can cause issues. 2.4GHz WiFi and video-senders that share the 2.4GHz ISM band can be issue. One of you Bluetooth devices may be malfunctioning.

To trace the likely source of your issue, you’ll have to work though systematic elimination of possible sources, one by one. As part of this exercise, consider relocating elsewhere with just your iPad and Nimbus controller - and retest.
