Hi. My 13" 2017 Non-Touchbar comes with 128gb of storage, and i would like to upgrade it. From the reviews i've seen on Amazon from Third-Party manufacturers, there is no point going that route. Apple must be holding stock of spare SSDs, and my question is if i can buy these in any way? 500gb would be enough, but 1tb would be sweet if not too expensive. I live in Sweden.

It has 2 comments about being slow out of 28 reviews. I'm not sure the people posting those comments are more trustworthy that MacSales.
I agree with Grant, they probably did not know what they were doing.

Apple isn't holding back anything. They simply do not sell parts or upgrades to the public.
You can buy a number of compatible SSDs from reputable manufacturers such as MacSales.com

sudo trimforce enable
then enter your Admin password, which will not be echoed.
then they show you a disclaimers and ask you so say Yes.
Then your computer restarts and comes up with TRIM enabled.

Apple does not sell parts.
They sell installed parts in your computer, and for MacBook Pro, they replace ONLY like-for-like, generally no upgrades.
The problem with this drive is that people on Amazon are reporting it having very low write speeds. Several were reporting only 350mb/sec.
Amazon drives and Macsales drives are different things. I did say reputable dealers. Amazon sellers aren't necessarily reputable.
MacSales states theirs have a write speed of up to 2720MB/s.
Yes, but i am talking about the same drive. It is also being advertised by OWC themselves on Amazon.
if you fail to enable TRIM for non-Apple drives AND allow the drive to fill with junk because of that, Write performance will suffer. Lots of people who write reviews do not know what they are doing.
Okay never heard of that, going for OWC may end up being a solution for me then. Seems like the command is "sudo trimforce enable"
