"Using Bootp" option in configuring IPv4.

My LAN connection runs on a proxy and I was able to connect to the internet by configuring IPv4 to "Using Bootp" option. However, I have noticed that after updating to macOS Ventura from Monterey, "Using Bootp" option is removed and I am no longer able to connect to the internet.

Can anyone help me with this? I do not want to downgrade to Monterey again as it will erase my hard disk and taking a backup is expensive for me.

Is there a way to fix this in macOS Ventura?

Just Updated to MacOS 12.6 - No Internet Hello, I have 2017 Macbook Pro and I just installed the new update for Monterey (12.6) I believe there was also a safari update with it as well. Both wifi and LAN are not working. I have tried several tips on the support boards but am coming up empty. Restart, Safe mode, new ip, wifi only, lan only, none of it does a thing. Checked the router, fine. Was literally working perfectly until this update installed. Every other internet device in house is working fine. I am not using Time Machine currently, is there an easy way to uninstall this update to go back how it was before? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

Setting up a dhcp server with MacOS . I need to test my network by setting up a dhcp server. Is there a clean procedure to do so ? I can only find partial scripts and incomplete howtos, and I keep running in Apple's own way of managing safeties. I'd really like not to start my OpenBSD Box. I spend some hours reading howtos that just happen not to work (mostly on Apple's forum), how come there is not a simple way to start a DHCP server (such as typing bootpd - D) ? How do you convince MacOs to allow writing preferences files other than logging in with a superuser account ? I'd hate to get all the privileges just to perform a single task. what I typed : bootpd -D what I got : (from zsh) command not found when I vi bootpd.plist I just cannot save in /etc when I look up the forum everyone just seems to think it is so obvious that it doesn't need explaining, and when I look elsewhere, I just get the "log in as root and then you can do whatever you want". Is there a clean way to start a DHCP server ? MacOS 12.6.1 MacBookPro13,2 TIA
