USB Hub recognized as external Display

I'm facing issues regarding my Mac right now. As soon as i connect my USB-Hub (not original Apple one) my Macbook (M1) recognizes it as an external Monitor. This makes working almost impossible, since my Programms (Adobe) will always open at the Monitor, which isn't a real Monitor…

I'm working on a external Monitor btw. The "fake" one is the "1080p60 " one. Sorry for my English. Thanks in advance.

Hey there Georch-95,

Let's rule out some possible causes, along with confirming more details to better understand what's happening:

  1. Was there a time when the hub had no issues, and if yes, when did this first start?
  2. You mentioned that this is a third-party USB hub, but have you tested another port on your Mac?
  3. Have you tried testing it with another Mac?
  4. Sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart. Check out the section ‘Restart your Mac' here: Log out, sleep, wake, restart, or shut down your Mac
  5. As you have a compatible Mac model, the latest version is macOS 13.1. You can verify this by clicking on the Apple logo at the top left corner of the screen, then on ‘About This Mac’. In case you needed it, this link shows how to first back up, then Update macOS on Mac.

Cheers!
