Confirm iphone passcode issue.

My apple ID wants me to confirm my iphone passcode however there is a section where it asks me to enter my old passcode. I never had an old passcode. The passcode was always the same. I have seen that other people have had this issue and solved it by clicking on 'forgot passcode' however this option is not available on my iphone. Is there a workaround?
