Trackpad size causing basic usability issues on the 16" MBP
Has anyone noticed a huge usability issue with the enlarged trackpad on the 16" mbp?
This was driving me insane and I couldn't figure it out, so this is my best guess.
I've always used the largest size mbp available for school & work (15+ years), and the trackpad was pretty much the same size on all of them until now.
The ~40% increase in size forces me to change my hand orientation relative to the keyboard. If I rest my hands the way I'm used to the trackpad detects accidental taps and I'm constantly double clicking or dragging things by accident (maddening). My hands are pretty average adult size, so this effect feels very strange.
On top of that, because I'm forcing myself to adjust the angle of my hands, I'm now missing basic key strokes which have been ingrained since I started using computers. I'm constantly missing the intended key simply because my fingers don't quite reach where it actually is.
Long story short, it feels like I'm using a foreign keyboard, or a laptop for the first time sometimes... because my hands need to be spaced out further due to this gigantic track pad.
Just wondering if I'm not the only one, and needed to get this opinion out there :)
ps.
I've read that you can possibly adjust the perimeter of tap detection on these things... I'm just not sure how.
