I cannot gift a song to anyone by any former means. It’s simply not an option. Has anyone figured out a way to do this? The “gift to” option is dormant, and I see no other way? Thank you, kindly!
Here is a photo with the song that is exquisite for timing with flight take offs I could not comfort my friend with on her delays,
many are dealing with. I just wanted to give her the high of timing this song to take-off and I can’t do it.

KK, Gifting has to be done from the iTunes Store, not from Apple Music. Also, if you want to gift a single song, it must be dome from a computer (PC or laptop). On an iPhone or iPad, you will only be able to gift entire albums.

In the iTunes Store, using the OP's example, when I tap on the gift icon, it offers to gift "Vessel" (the full album) not "Trees" (the single song). Are you seeing something different? Were you actually able to compete gifting of a single song that was part of an album?
Also, the Apple document ( Gift apps, music, movies, and more from Apple - Apple Support ) specifically says "You can't gift individual songs on an iPhone or iPad. To gift a song, use your Mac or PC." If that is not correct, pls let Apple know.
Try this:
Tap on the song, the song will play.
Then tap the Share icon (top right of the screen).
A screen will appear, with a number of options, including Gift This Song.
Does that icon "Gift" lead to the song or the album?
To a song, the same as if you do from a macOS computer.
Please note: if next to a song, in the price column says 'Album Only' then you have to purchase the entire album.
