Mail account not showing up in Mail

I saw this has been asked before with no solution concluded:

"Mail account not showing up in Mail

I just added a new google mail account to Mail. It is showing up as an account under Internet Accounts in settings, but it is not showing up in Mail. It is however showing up in my calender. "

I have this problem too. I was setting up 2 Google mail accounts in Mac Mail. One works fine, but the other doesn't even show up as an account in Mail.

The account is added, the mailbox checked in account settings, but it says that the outgoing server is offline. How can it be offline? The calendar part works

I tried to delete and re-add the account. I also restarted my Mac. No results.

Any ideas on how to solve this will be higly appreciated.

Thank you.

It actually ended up being solved without me understanding how. I did a lot of trial and error. Gave up, left it for a couple of hours, and then all of sudden it was all good. I am not sure if I did something right or if it was just because it took so long to read all the information.

Anyway, I learned something from your suggestion that might be useful another time. So thank you.
