Contact blocked on iPhone text still coming through to Apple Watch

i blocked a contact on my phone and somehow texts still came to my Apple Watch. After doing some research i got an explanation that i needed to power my watch on/off to have it sync to the updated changes on my iPhone.

my question is will the text show as “delivered” to the person who sent it? Or would it still appear as “no status” (like how texts usually appear when a text gets sent to someone who blocked the sender.)
