email not syncing from Mac to iPhone 14

I have a Mac computer running macOS Ventura 13.1 and an iPhone 14 (iOS 16.1.2). When I open my email on my phone, the emails I have already read on my Mac are showing as unread. How can I sync the email so they both will show read or deleted from whichever device I use. It has worked fine before. This is a new problem in the last week or so. I have restarted both my Mac and my phone and it still doesn't sync.

Nothing syncs between devices. Notes, Contacts, Calendars, and Reminders either sync to iCloud or to an email server e.e. Google, AOL, Exchange, Outlook, Yahoo or any Other. Please see the pic below

If Contacts were on iCloud, try this --> Restore contacts, calendars, bookmarks, and more using ...

See any of the following:

If you had turned on Messages in iCloud, iCloud Photos, Mail, Health data, call history under iCloud, and files you store in iCloud Drive your content is automatically stored in iCloud and is available on all devices that use the same Apple ID
