Exporting data from the watch/health app

Why doesn’t Apple Watch/Fitness/Health export the lap data when it exports runs or walks to other tracking apps? I use Training Peaks with my coach, but she doesn’t get to see the lap data and my mile splits.

Hi DCRendi,

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today.

This article can help you share data with a person or an app: Share your data in Health on iPhone

"Share health and fitness data with apps and devices

You can give other apps permission to share health and fitness data with Health. For example, if you install a workout app, its exercise data can appear in Health. The workout app can also read and make use of data (such as your heart rate and weight) shared by other devices and apps. If you didn’t give an app permission to share data with Health when you set up the app, you can give permission later. You can also remove permission from an app.

To share your records from healthcare providers with apps, see Share your health records with other apps.

  1. Tap your picture or initials at the top right.
  2. If you don’t see your picture or initials, tap Summary or Browse at the bottom of the screen, then scroll to the top of the screen.
  3. Below Privacy, tap Apps or Devices.
  4. The screen lists the items that requested access to Health data.
  5. To change the access for an item, tap it, then turn on or off permission to write data to—or read data from—Health."

If you aren't able to share with Training Peaks, you should contact their support to if it is possible. Here's How to contact an app developer.

"Contact the developer of an iOS, iPadOS, or watchOS app

  1. Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Search for the app, then tap it. If you can't find it, tap the account button  or your photo at the top of the screen, tap Purchased, tap "Not on this [device]," then tap the app.
  3. The app's product page appears. Scroll to the Ratings & Reviews section, then tap App Support. If you don't see App Support, make sure that you're signed in with the correct Apple ID."

If you have further questions regarding the Health app, reach out to the experts here: Apple Support.

Have a fantastic day!
