Create a new admin user. Shut down the computer. Disconnect all the external devices. Boot into the new user. Test it again and post a new EtreCheck report.
Opencore?
Please post an EtreCheck report https://etrecheck.com giving the application Full Disk Access in Privacy System Preferences. Copy the report and use the Add Text button to paste the result into reply box.
Please disconnect all external devices so only the system drive is running. Hold Opt-Cmd as you launch the application in the new admin user to trash the preferences.
You have Chrome and its keystone daemons. They kill video applications by hogging the system videotoolbox. See https://chromeisbad.com for why this is, and how to remove them completely. After removing them you will need to delete and reinstall FCP.
Your computer is running Monterey on a custom kernel it looks like. I think that’s what’s crashing FCP. I don’t thing the application will run on this computer without a probably configured OS, which it can’t do.
I have followed the steps of deleting Chome and all connected files from the Library.
I uninstalled and rebooted iMac. I reinstalled a new copy of FPCX from the AppStore.
I am having the same issues as before. FCPX crashes when I launch it.
Any further help is much appreciated.
Thanks
I have created a new admin user account and dismounted all external drives. I have attempted to launch FCPX with no luck. It is the same and crashes upon launching the app. The new Etre check report is attached. Thanks
I have physically disconnected all external drives and attempted to launch FCPX from the newly created admin user account.
I held Opt-Cmd on doing so and deleted the preference. FCPX launched and immediately crashed. I was presented with the "FCPX quit unexpectedly"
The new ETRE report and screenshots are atached. I hope they help.
Thanks
You can’t buy an older version of FCP from the App Store but you can download the last version for your system from the App Store. New purchases have to be made on the current version of the application.
Hi thanks for the quick reply.
Thank you. I will follow these steps and report back. Much appreciated!
Thanks for looking into it. I was thinking the same. Is there anyway I could download an older version of FCPX from the Appstore?
I appreciate your help. I will try and factory reset the iMac to a high sierra and attempt to download FCP.
