Settings icon not in App Library
Settings icon missing from screens & App Library. Can’t find it with Search. Using up-to-date IPhone 8. Can’t tell exact version because I can’t get to Settings.

It’s actually working for me
You can definitely find the Settings icon in the App Library if your iPhone has iOS 14 or iOS 15.
On your home screen, swipe left until you reach the App Library - Find the Settings icon, hold your finger on the icon and drag it back to the desired location on the home screen.

Strangely enough, I could not find settings in the app library.
I managed to restore it by somehow updating some of my other apps. In order to do that, I ended up in the settings. By moving through the Settings tree, the settings icon magically appeared on my home screen.
I believe somehow it got hidden, and I cannot find a way to hide it. But all is well now. Thanks for your replies.
Ask Siri to open settings
Siri says I don’t have an app named Settings & to look on the App Store.
But I read that Apple doesn’t let you delete Settings; and they shouldn’t.
Bug then
