Restoring CONTACTS

I went to iCloud to restore deleted CONTACTS but after the initial files the were in chronological order - it keeps loading more increments of 1 minute x 3.

Do I continue to restore each until this stops or amI just restoring contacts over & over?

Thanks!

Good afternoon neeeceeeb,

You only need to click once to restore, and you want to choose a date before you deleted the Contact if you want to restore the missing data.

You stated you are doing this on your iPhone. Check the Contacts app on your Mac. If you do not have iCloud Contacts enabled on your Mac, the information may still be there.

You might also have older contacts data in a Time Machine backup on your Mac. The resource below explains how to search for data back in time before you made these changes.

Restore items backed up with Time Machine on Mac - macOS User Guide

Looking ahead, so that this doesn't happen again, you may want to print a copy of your contacts or make copies of other iCloud data:

Print mailing labels, envelopes, and contact lists in Contacts on Mac - Contacts User Guide

Archive or make copies of the information you store in iCloud

Take care.

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Community neeeceeeb,

Restoring deleted iCloud contacts is done by date. The following steps outline the process:

1: Sign in to iCloud.com.
2: Scroll down to the bottom of the window, then select Data Recovery.
3: Select Restore Contacts or Restore Bookmarks.
4: Select Restore next to the date before you deleted the content.
5: Select Restore again to confirm. After the restore completes, you get a notification on iCloud.com and an email at the address on file with your Apple ID.

If you accidentally deleted your calendars, bookmarks, or contacts from iCloud

We hope this helps!
