vo2max during football

I have a query regarding vo2max that Apple Watch records post simple activities such as walking. I play football(soccer) and sometimes even after the match 90+ mins, apple fails to record vo2max and then reports my vo2max as very low when I take evening stroll later in the day. How do I fix this and capture my real vo2max and not when apple wants to measure it

VO2 max not recording My Apple Watch periodically stops recording VO2 max. It last recorded it on 26 October, and I have recorded many outdoor walks since then, but no VO2 max. Software up to date on phone and watch. This has happened before a couple of times and I know that unpairing and repairing the watch will fix it, but that wipes all Apple Pay info, which is a pain to set up again in the teeth of reasonable suspicion from card providers. It’s clearly a bug, and it would be nice if Apple fixed it properly. In the meantime, anyone else had this and found a neater fix than unpairing and repairing, please? Thanks.

Apple watch VO2 max measurement dropping like a rock I am struggling to under the VO2 max readings on my Apple Watch. I work out daily with very little change in the weekly routine. But the VO2 values are dropping like a rock - down nearly 20% (from 39 to 33) in the last 6 weeks. So 4 or 5 Outdoor Walks on the same path/loop each week where Workout App measures the values. All are for a duration of 50-60 minutes. All with an average pace of ~14 miles per hour. Heart rate pretty constant in the 125-135 BPM range. These workouts don't vary by 5%. Yet the VO2 max is dropping each time. I just don't get it. Anyone have any ideas? It is an Apple Watch 7, Watch OS 10.3.1, using a tight fitting sports band. Tim

When you're going on a stroll, please activate the walking workout. This should make the watch measure your Vo2 max

A VO2Max figure can only be obtained through an outdoor walk,outdoor run or hiking workout.
