Airpod Pro 1 and 2 have issues with Teams and Zoom

Do not buy these if you're looking to use with Zoom or Teams. I am using Airpod Gen 2 on MacBook Pro and the mic distorts my voice in both apps. Tested with Bose Headphones on same device and no issue. Others have posted about this issue and received feedback to reach out to microsoft and zoom support. It is clearly issue with AirPods.


Please review this issue and update firmware accordingly.

These steps may be able to help:


"If your AirPods Pro (1st generation) make crackling or static sounds

Follow these steps.


  1. Make sure that you have the latest software on your connected iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac.
  2. Check that your connected device is nearby, and there's no wireless interference or obstructions between you and your device
  3. Listen to audio from a different app to see if the app causes the issue. 

If you still experience sound quality issues—or if the issues increase in loud environments, with exercise, or while talking on the phone—refer to AirPods Pro Service Program for Sound Issues."

If the issue persists, it may be best to reach out to Apple directly.


You can do so by going to Get Support.


They will take a closer look and check on available options.
