Detach plug from MacBook Air power adapter?

I have a late 2013 MacBook Pro and recently purchased a 2022 M2 MacBook Air. The MBP's power adapter is connected to an Apple extension cord, and I'm wondering if I can remove the plug from the new standard MBA power adapter and connect this adapter to the extension cord. It would be convenient to be able to do this and it looks like the plug is removable (as it is on the MBP adapter, which I've used in various countries with the World Travel Adapter Kit), but is it? I've pulled on it and it hasn't come loose, but I don't want to pull too hard and possibly break it. I can manage without using the Apple extension cord, but I'd like to be able to.

MacBook Air, macOS 13.1

As you can see from this offering in the Apple Store,

Power Adapter Extension Cable - Apple

yes, those extension cables work with a wide range of Mac chargers, Intel and silicon.

The connectors are snug and can take some effort to separate. Make sure you are pulling in the correct direction. Then you can connect the connectors for other countries.

Also, you can simply use an ordinary extension cord to extend the length of the power cord. And connect other country adaptors to that ordinary extension cord.

Thanks, Steve626. Encouraged by this, I went back, tried again,... and still couldn't get the plug separated. Half-convinced that Apple must have inhibited the removal with some invisible little piece of tape or plastic, I carefully went around the edge with a pocket knife and then it finally came loose. I don't know whether this knife operation had any actual effect or not – maybe it loosened the plug a little even if there wasn't any tape or plastic – but in any event I got the plug off and could even put it on the old Mac's adapter, purchased in 2013. I had this one's plug put away somewhere, but didn't need to dig it out. Now, if they only hadn't changed the size of the Thunderbolt ports...
