my iphone xr videos sound muffled aftwr recording them with normal camera. However, the microphone sound okay recording on voice memos, and other apps like instagram ans snapchat. What could be the issue? I have updated to the latest software 16.2 rest my iphone and erased everything but this has not helped. Kindly assist

Check if that mic (small hole close to the rear camera) is dirty.
To clean it use a strong flashlight, a wooden toothpick and a soft brush.
If the issue persists, make an appointment (*) and have your device inspected at an Apple Store or AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) among this list:--> Apple – Location Selector. After checking it out, they'll give you all the available options.
