imovie doesnt recognize available space

My iPad Pro (latest model) has over 100gb available space, iCloud storage has 1tb storage available. I’m running the latest os and latest release of imovie. When I try to export any project from imovie, no matter where I try to export the movie I get an error I only have 3gb of storage available and I need 5.5gb. The available storage error is not accurate. I have no idea where that number is coming from? How can I have imovie actually recognize all available space so I can export my projects. I’ve tried editing projects and deleting and reloading the app, did not help. Thanks in advance for help.
