Reset 2017 MacBook Air

Hello, I want to reset my 2017 Intel based MacBook Air.

I am a little confused once I reach the disk utility stage as I have read different walkthroughs about what exactly to do.

I have two drives showing, Macintosh HD and Macintosh HD - Data. Do I erase or delete both drives or just the data one? Do I delete the Data drive? Do I delete just the Data drive or the Volume Group?

Some clarity would much be appreciated.

Thank you!

Before you do, backup your data, and deauthorize your store account.

View menu -> Show all devices in Disk Utility.

Select the top most device in Disk Utility, and hit Erase.

APFS is the format.

You can power down once you reach the select a language screen on the installation.

Hi, thanks but this is the old way of resetting it. Following an update in 2022, the top device (Macintosh HD) has been split in two. I believe both have to be reset, but I have seen some walkthroughs suggesting I delete the drives (which doesn't seem right). I just wanted to know what I have to do to each drive.
