Why not always use Safe Mode?

I just booted this MacBook Air M2 in Safe Mode. A red message came to the menu bar affirming Safe Mode Boot. The computer is working as normal, connected to wifi, nothing apparently missing in functions, fonts, apps, etc. Why not always boot in Safe Mode?

A bit extra: My MacBook no longer auto boots when I lift the lid after a shut down. Did an update change that function? Pressing any key or touch pad launches Boot which is fine with me, but I wonder if something is wrong with the lid or is this Ventura update function?

Just to add…

"Some features might not work in safe mode, such as movie playback in DVD Player, video capture, file sharing, Wi-Fi, some accessibility features, some audio devices, and some devices that connect via USB, Thunderbolt, or FireWire. Accelerated graphics are disabled, which could cause blinking or distortion onscreen during startup."

Safe Mode is just to tell if there are 3rd party software that are causing whatever problem you might be having. This is what happens when you boot into Safe Mode:

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

Do you have some problem that went away in Safe Mode?

There are many third-party apps that don't run in Safe Mode.

My M1 MackBook Air boots when lifting the lid after a shut down.

My MacBook stopping booting upon lifting the lid which is fine with me but unexpected. I tried booting in Safe Mode to clear caches as instructed. I guess I am still in Safe Mode because I have not restarted. Everything is working just as fast, fonts okay, wifi on, moving between apps etc. is okay. Seems it would be a better way to operate a computer minus a bunch of unnecessary software to use Safe Mode. The only 3rd party item I have is a printer driver I rarely use so I wonder why not always boot in Safe Mode unless needing to print.
