Auto-hide Others when switching apps?

Is there a way to put a MBA (OS 13.1) in "single app mode" so that when I Command-Tab to an app, including Finder, other windows are automatically hidden? I prefer to switch apps using the keyboard not the trackpad.

If you enable Stage Manager that's exactly what will happen.
