Help- IOS 16’s photo drag and drop not working with other apps

Hello, I’m trying to lift a subject from a photo on my iPhone on IOS 16 and put it on to another photo. It says I can drag and drop on to a photo in a third party photo editing app or possibly copy and paste however nothing seems to happen when I drop selected subject on to photo in an app.

can anyone tell me what photo editor apps allow this or if I can simply drop or paste in to a photo on my iPhone without using an app?
