whatsapp chat restore and forgotten password

Whatsapp got deleted from my iphone and when I reinstalled it the first thing it does after I enter my phone number is ask to restore chat history. I forgot my whatsapp password to restore chat history but can't get to settings to change PW unless I skip restore but it says if I skip restore from icloud I won't be able to get the chat history later. I need my chat history so if I skip restore at this point will I ever be able to get it back?
