Archiving unused contacts

Is there a way to archive unused contacts or move them to an archived folder so that the information and associated data are not deleted?

Hello Sukwoiya,

Great question! Please take a look at this support article: Keep your contacts up to date with iCloud - Apple Support. It explains: "Contacts stored in iCloud are archived automatically. You can use iCloud.com to restore an archived version of your contacts on all your devices if you ever need to."

Let us know if we can help with anything else at all or if this doesn't settle your issue so we can look into this further with you. Thanks and have a fabulous day!

Not really what I was asking about. There are plenty of resources for archiving all contacts. What I’m looking for is a way to trim down my contact list by removing unused contacts individually without deleting them permanently. Often, apps will do this automatically if a certain time has passed without the item being accessed. Typically they would be removed from the primary list and placed in a folder where they found be accessed and restored if the item is needed at a later date.
