I got my iPad 2 days ago and this started showing up today.

I don't know if it's because there's a case on it or if it's just the screen

If purchased directly from Apple, if you have any concerns whatsoever, you have 14-days within which to unconditionally return the iPad for exchange or refund. You would be well advised to make use of the opportunity while it remains available to you.
