IOS 16 mail background activity -> battery empty

iPhone 11 / IOS 16.2.

Background activity - mail app

Everything is switched off: no push allowed / no notifications (Mitteilungen) / no data transfer (Datenabgleich) allowed / mail-app completely closed and NOT opened !!!

Nevertheless -> background activity:

last 24 h =1 h 59 min

last 10 days = 22 h 52 min

???

My battery do have a problem -> and the reason is obiously background-activity of mail-app. Never ever had this problem with earlier IOS versions. I have to charge my battery very often!
